The Route of Souls<\/strong> is a guided tour full of history, art, and emotion.
We invite you to discover the Sitges cemetery<\/strong>, a unique space where architectural and sculptural beauty combines with centuries of silence and memory.
The old Sitges cemetery, originally located in front of the parish church, was moved in 1814<\/strong> to the outskirts of the town, beyond Sant Sebasti\u00e0 beach. Today, this space is part of the urban center and retains its Mediterranean cloister<\/strong> structure, with a central chapel and elevated perimeter walls. <\/p>\n

The cemetery gardens<\/strong> are designed to evoke emotions: trees, shrubs, and plants specially chosen for a funerary garden<\/strong> that invites reflection.<\/p>\n

The Sitges cemetery<\/strong> is an authentic open-air museum. It houses funerary sculptures from the late 19th and early 20th centuries<\/strong>, testament to the passage of the \u201camericanos\u201d<\/strong>, the ‘indianos’ who adorned their graves with monumental works.
Notable pieces by artists such as Josep Llimona<\/a>, Frederic Mar\u00e8s<\/a>, Manuel Fux\u00e0, Agapit Vallmitjana, Alejandro Mariotti, Josep Reyn\u00e9s<\/a>, Joan Rebull, or Pere Jou<\/a><\/strong> stand out, as well as works by renowned architects.
